HIGHER MORWELL GARDEN DIARY
6th June 2016
Rabbits and deer. Both have been helping themselves
to the plants in the garden over the past few days.
The dark red smoke bush has had all its leaves eaten
and even one of the thorny pyracantha bushes has
lost its lower foliage. We’ve started putting wire
fences around the plants and spraying more animal
repellant on them. The new polytunnel should be a
safe haven for the tender vegetables. We hope!
Culprit caught on the
webcam at 0455 in
the morning. They
are marvellous to
watch but eat
anything green at
around their head
height, so the new
fruit trees and the
Joseph Rock sorbus
planted last year
have all suffered
recently.
