HIGHER MORWELL GARDEN DIARY

In the past two days we have found two dead rabbits in
the garden, with no sign of any injuries.
The RHD-2 virus has caused rabbit shows in parts of
Britain to be cancelled since being identified in Spring
of this year. The rabbits show no symptoms and just
collapse and die. It seems highly likely that our local
rabbits are infected.
This is a webcam shot
from the early hours of
27th May, at least four
rabbits grazing on the
grass and probably others
up to no good elsewhere.
The smoke bush on the
left in front of the fence
was a mass of new red
leaves then, but the
rabbits stripped it bare in
no time at all, so now it
has a fence around it as it
recovers. We hope.
