HIGHER MORWELL GARDEN DIARY
28th July 2016
We’re rather surprised to see the two pear trees
putting up new shoots, leaves and even blossom!
Perhaps the deer munching the lower leaves have
stirred up a second growth spurt.
Deer are still coming in and we’ve decided to put
barbed wire along the north Devon bank to keep them
out, the wanton destruction is just too much.
The patio is finished, and
the raised bed awaits
sieved soil and some
plants in addition to the
yellow rose still as
rescued from one of the
beds where rabbits
seemed to delight in
stripping off the leaves.
The slabs are laid on sand
which I levelled, then
found that the slabs aren’t
all the same thickness.
Another lesson.
